Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is available in most stores, on the cleaning isle. It comes in a box. The magic eraser is a white sponge-like block. There are usually two in a package for around $3. There is also a DUO version, it is the same as the regular one, but has a blue backing on it made for wiping down surfaces after cleaning, and an "Extra Power" version that is supposed to be stronger. I only use the regular Mr.Clean Magic Eraser.
The Magic Eraser works through micro-abrasion. It gently scrubs away all kinds of unsightly marks. I have used this product to remove SHINEY SPOTS, SCRAPES, PAINT MARKS ,and even BAD SCUFFS! Not to mention, it does one heck of a job on ingrained dirt. AND, it does all of this without damaging your doll! Once the shiny spot, scuff or whatever is removed, the vinyl looks like new.
I have used it for problems as minor as a Samantha who's head bumped the door facing, leaving a slight shiny line, and problems as major as a doll with many bad scuffs and an arm that was positively glossy with shine. It works like a dream every time.
To use the sponge, you just dampen it, ring it out, and then scrub, scrub, scrub.Be patient, and do not be afraid to go over the area as many times as you need to. It may take more than one try for really bad scuffs. When you are finished, wipe down the area with a damp, soft, clean cloth.
Because it is micro-abrasive, Mr.Clean Magic Eraser CAN AND WILL REMOVE FACE PAINT, So be very careful if you have to use it around lip, teeth, cheek or eyebrow color.
Mr.Clean Magic Eraser is one tool that should be in every dolly Mom's first aid kit.
This is soooo good to know!!! I have an abused doolie on her way here with red marks on one check and arm. I bought her from Henna1 on HB. She seems to think that someone may have bleached the brown skin to red. I sure hope itis something I can fix. Either way I will love the dollie to pieces!
